Tigers Drop to 1-1 in ACCC Play
Marion, AL. – The MMI men's basketball team hosted the Cardinals of Gadsden State Community College Monday evening for another ACCC North-South match-up before heading home for Thanksgiving break.
Starting for the Tigers was Myles McClain, Quandre Burroughs, Anthony Bryant, Eli Elston, and Cameron Spain. With the tip going in favor of Marion, Burroughs connected on a three-pointer to start the game. The Cardinals would stay close and take their first lead at the 16:50 mark.
MMI would keep the game close in the first half until they went on almost a six-minute scoring drought, allowing the visitors to take a commanding lead. GSCC led 42-60 at halftime.
The Tigers came out of the locker room and tried to put together a couple of runs but couldn't get closer than ten points. MMI eventually fell to Gadsden State 80-97 to fall to 1-1 in the ACCC standings.
Quandre Burroughs led Marion with 30 points. Anthony Bryant added 29 points. Also scoring for MMI was Isaiah Green (9), Elijah Marsh (5), Eli Elston (4), Marselis Jones (2), and Cameron Spain (1).
MMI will be back in action Tuesday, November 29, when they host Wallace State Community College with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
