Meridian, MS—The Lady Tigers of Marion Military Institute opened their spring season at the Northeast Park Tennis Center, losing to Meridian Community College in the opener, 5-4, and falling to Jones College, 6-3, in the second match.

Julia Kelly, MMI's No. 1 singles and doubles player, won four matches on the day, downing Meridian's Isabella Warham, 6-0, 6-2, and Jones College's Andrea Vlasceanu, 2-6, 6-2, 10-5.  Kelly and her doubles partner, Madelyn Dibble, also won a pair of matches.  They defeated Meridian's Warham and Harper Bryan, 8-3, and Jones College's Mia Hoddinghaus and Judith Mills, 8-3.

MMI's Anna Waller won two of her four matches at No. 2 singles on Saturday as well, claiming two singles wins against Meridian's Carla Montaruli, 6-0, 6-1, and Jones's Hoddinghaus, 6-1, 6-2.
