Bio

Coach Hazewinkel  was a member of two (2) U.S. Olympic Teams, five (5) U.S. World Teams, and six (6) consecutive World Olympic Teams.  He has won ten (10) National Titles and has been voted "Outstanding Wrestler" of the nation.  Coach Jim, along with twin brother Dave, have placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th in World competition as well as won fourteen (14) Masters National Titles in Folk, Free, Greco, and Sombo.  Both Jim and Dave were crowned All-Army and Inter-Service Champions and served as assistant coaches at the U.S. Military Academy.  Jim was an assistant coach for the U.S. Greco-Roman World Team that travelled to Poland in 1974.

Jim and Dave were the first brothers and first twin brothers to be on a Greco-Roman World wrestling team at the same time; the first brothers and twin brothers to be ona Greco-Roman Olympic wrestling team at the same time; hold the longest streak record for brothers and twin brothers for being on six (6) consecutive world and olympic teams at the same time in Greco-Roman wrestling (1967-1972); first brothers and twin brothers to be voted "Outstanding Wrestlers" in a National Tournament at the same time in Greco-Roman wrestling (1971).
