Lady Tigers Split Road DH at CACC

Alexander City, AL. – The MMI Lady Tigers softball team split a doubleheader at Central Alabama Community College yesterday to drop to 12-2 in the ACCC North.  They are scheduled to finish the four game series Saturday, March 25, with a 1:00 p.m. start (weather permitting).

GAME 1: MMI 0 CACC 4

The Lady Tigers' bats could only produce three hits in game one with Jaqulyn Braswell, Jessica Cross, and Jazmin Healy each finishing with one.

Sophomore Kinley Bolton took the loss from the circle after giving up six hits, three runs and a walk with four strikeouts in four innings.  Freshman reliever Ashley Maddox gave up a hit, a run and a walk in two innings.

GAME 2: MMI 13 CACC 5

Sophomore Harleigh Anderson earned the game two win from the circle for Marion.  In five innings she gave up 10 hits and five runs (four earned) with two walks and a strikeout.  Freshman Jaylee Crow worked two innings in relief, giving up just one hit with a strikeout.

Alexandra Erwin, MMI's lead off hitter, finished 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI.  Karlee Pierson, Avary Lumpkin, and Jayden Kendrick each had two hits in the win.  Pierson stole two bases, scored twice, and had two RBI; Lumpkin doubled with an RBI and scored one run.  Kendrick also scored a run and recorded an RBI.

Also getting hits for Marion was Jaqulyn Braswell (1-for-3, R), Jessica Cross (1-for-5, HR, 2R, RBI), Krislin Estes (1-for-4, HR, 2R, RBI), and Jazmin Healy (1-for-4, R).
