Oxford, AL. – The MMI Lady Tigers finished 1-1 at the 2022 ACCC Spring Extravaganza, defeating preseason nationally ranked Wabash Valley.  They will travel to Phenix City, AL. to play Chattahoochee Valley CC Thursday, March 3.  Game one is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.

Game 1: MMI 4 Wabash 2

Marion held a 3-2 lead after four innings of play Saturday afternoon and added a run in the fifth inning to clinch victory in game one.  Harleigh Anderson started in the circle for the Lady Tigers and worked 3.2 innings before being relieved by Kinley Bolton. Bolton earned the win surrendering two hits, no runs, and no walks with one strikeout in 3.1 innings.

Meredith Taylor led MMI at the plate with a double and three RBI.  Also getting hits were Maris Stinchcomb (1-for-4 with a double), Jessica Cross (1-for-3 with a double a run scored), Kaela Gimberg (1-for-3 with a walk and one run scored), and Jazmin Healy (1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored).

Game 2: MMI 2 GMC 5

The Lady Tigers scattered just three hits in their second game of the afternoon with Erin Babineaux, Jaycie Armstrong, and Jazmin Healy each finishing with one. 

Kinley Bolton earned the start in the circle and took the loss after working four innings.  She gave up seven hits, three runs, and no walks with five strikeouts.  Alexus Lambert and Harleigh Anderson both saw action in relief.
