The Lady Tigers softball team rebounded from two extra inning losses at Wallace CC-Dothan to earn a doubleheader sweep at home against Lurleen B. Wallace Community College yesterday afternoon.  MMI is scheduled to play Bishop State CC Thursday, February 17 (weather permitting) with a 12:00 scheduled start.

Game 1: MMI 6 LBW 3

Freshman Kinley Bolton threw all seven innings in game one to claim her fifth win of the season.  She allowed three hits, three runs and three walks with ten strikeouts.

Kaela Gimberg went 2-for-2 with two walks.  Nataley Whitner and Erin Babineaux finished with two hits each; Whitner also had two RBI.

Maris Stinchcomb and Carly Taylor also had hits in the win.

Game 2: MMI 10 LBW 0 (5 innings)

Homeruns by Jessica Morales, Kaela Gimberg, and Nataley Whitner allowed Marion to win game two in five innings.  Morales scored three times with an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base.  Gimberg finished with a team high three RBI and two runs scored; Whitner added a double, an RBI while scoring twice.

Jessica Cross finished 2-for-3 with a stolen base, an RBI, and a run scored.  Maris Stinchcomb and Erin Babineaux also had hits in the win.

Harleigh Anderson earned the win from the circle.  In five innings she allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out five batters.
