Marion, AL. – The MMI Tigers saw all nine players that dressed for Friday nights contest score, with Marion getting a 91-72 victory against the Cougars of Lawson State CC.

The first thirteen minutes of the game saw both teams trade leads before Marion went on a small run. With the Tigers holding a slim 21-20 advantage, Quandre Burroughs hit a three-pointer and Isaiah Green scored on a floater inside the lane.

After two missed free throws by Lawson State, Burroughs stole the ball and passed ahead to Elijah Marsh who found him for another three-point basket; MMI up 31-20.  Wih under a minute to play before intermission, Marion extended their lead to sixteen, 40-24, but the Cougars scored on back-to-back shots. The Tigers held a 40-28 advantage at halftime.

The first six minutes of the second half found MMI pull away from the Cougars and jump out to a 56-34 lead. MMI was able to cruise the rest of the game and record their eleventh win of the season.

Quandre Burroughs scored a team high 23 points with Anthony Bryant adding 21 points. Myles McClain added 15 points from the point guard position. Rounding out the scoring or Marion was Isaiah Green (8), Elijah Marsh (7), Marselis Jones (5), Aidan Driggers (4), Tyrone Wright (4), and Eli Elston (4).

Marion will travel to Andalusia, Alabama Monday, February 6, for a re-match game against Lurleen B. Wallace CC.
