Baseball Takes Game One, Settles for Tie in Game Two

Marion, AL. - A recent game schedule change saw the MMI Tigers host the Eagles of Coastal Alabama CC-North in a doubleheader yesterday afternoon.

Game 1 MMI 4 Coa-N 2

Sophomore second baseman Michael Rich connected on a two-run home run to secure game one victory for the MMI Tigers in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader.  Mason Elmore earned the win from the mound after working just 1.2 innings.  He allowed no hits and no runs with one walk and three strikeouts.  Jackson Knox recorded his second save of the spring.

Hunter Stowe went 3-for-4 as the designated hitter while scoring twice for the Tigers.  Jordan Moore, MMI's third baseman, finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate while Rich finished with two hits.  

Nicholas Freeman, Colton Lunceford, Nicholas Copen, Nicholas Davis, and Christian Wright also recorded hits in the win for Marion.

Game 2 MMI 4 Coa-N 4

Game two was called after five innings of play due to darkness with the Tigers scoring twice in bottom of that inning to tie the game at four runs apiece.  Harrison Poplin, JC Watkins and Jaxson Lucas all saw action on the mound for Marion.  Nicholas Freeman went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored.  Also gettiing hits for the Tigers were: Trayton Taft, Michael Rich, Hunter Stowe, and Nicholas Copen.
