Tigers Split Two Games in Fall Scrimmage at Faulkner

Montgomery, AL - In the first scrimmage game held Thursday morning at Faulkner University, the MMI Tigers downed Lurleen B. Wallace CC 1-0 behind strong pitching and defense.  Sophomore shortstop Alex Reyna scored the game's only run in the bottom of the 6th inning.  Reyna singled and stole a base to get into scoring position for freshman Austin Anderson.  Anderson singled to record the game winning RBI.   Joe Hudson, Terrance Robinson, and Jackson Cofer all saw action on the mound for MMI, combining for a two-hit shutout.  Cofer earned the win.

The bats remained silent in Marion's second game as the Tigers suffered their first fall loss to Wallace CC-Dothan, 4-0.  Parker Farley singled and Jonah Todd doubled to finish with the only two hits for Marion.  Freshman Blake Teel threw two scoreless innings, not allowing a hit.  Ray Padilla and Chad Robinson also chipped in on the mound, recording a scoreless inning each.

Marion returns to action at the University of West Alabama (Livingston, AL) Saturday.
