Softball Sweeps Calhoun

Decatur AL- The Lady Tigers softball team swept a doubleheader at Calhoun Community College Saturday afternoon, winning 5-3 and 4-0.

In game one, Marion led 5-1 into the bottom of the 7th inning.  With two outs Calhoun scored twice.  Freshman Lindsey Savoie came in to relieve Caitlynn Cooper to get the final out and the save.  Cooper pitched 6.2 innings for the win scattering nine hits and three earned runs.  Angel Harrison went two-for-four at the plate with two runs scored.  Kennedy Harrison went two-for-four with a single and a double.  Alisea Balderaz also went two-for-four and scored one run.  Annelise Borg, Taylor Saucier, and Hayden Short each chipped in a base hit.

In game two, Lindsey Savoie pitched a three-hit shutout to lead MMI to the win.  Emily Tarango went two-for-four with a stolen base and a run scored.  Kennedy Harrison had a sacrifice fly RBI.  Angel Harrison hit a double deep into centerfield to record an RBI, and scored later that inning.  Ashley Holt and pinch hitter Bailey Connor also tallied a hit each in game two.
