Softball Loses Two to Wallace Hanceville

MARION, AL – The Marion Military Institute Lady Tigers ran into a buzz saw Thursday as perennial conference power Wallace State-Hanceville rolled to a pair of shutout wins 11-0 and 8-0.

The Lady Tigers garnered only four hits in the opener, two by Ashley StrengthAshley Soos and Taylor Anderson had the other safeties.

MMI threated only in the third when Lauren Camacho walked and Soos followed with her hit, but failed to score.

A five-run sixth inning sealed the win for Wallace State, unbeaten in conference play.

The nightcap was much of the same as Anderson and Andie Lopez collected the only hits. Anderson got the team's first hit in the fourth and Rachel Gauspohl and Taylor Miner followed with walks, but the rally stopped there.

MMI's game Saturday with Shelton State was rescheduled for Wednesday, April  9.
