Andrew MacBean Tabbed to Lead New Golf Program

Drew MacBean officially begins his tenure as Marion Military Institute's head men's and women's golf coach during the 2016-17 academic year.  A PGA golf professional, MacBean will also oversee the development and maintenance of MMI's 9-hole golf course.

MacBean's coaching stints include successful stops at Erskine College, the University of North Carolina Pembroke, and Alcorn State University.  While serving as a volunteer assistant men's and women's golf coach at Erskine College, MacBean led the men's team to the 2013 Conference Carolinas Championship.  Then, in 2014, as the assistant men's and women's golf coach at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, he played an integral role in guiding the women's team to the 2014 Peach Belt Conference Championship.  His last coaching stop before taking over the reins of the MMI golf program was as the head men's and women's golf coach at Alcorn State University, an NCAA Division I school in Lorman, MS.

A graduate of Campbell University's prestigious Professional Golf Management program, MacBean also holds a Master's degree in Coaching and Leadership from Greenville College.
