11/23/13 - The MMI men's basketball team lost in a re-match game versus Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Saturday afternoon, 72 to 60. The Tigers took a 13-point deficit into halftime and could never recover, outscoring LBW by only one point in the second half. The Saints took advantage on the boards, grabbing sixteen offensive rebounds and outrebounding Marion by thirteen.
Monta Sanford had a game high 21 points, shooting an impressive 14-for-17 from the charity stripe. Joshua Murrell finished with 11 points and grabbed a team high seven rebounds. Greg Henry and Jibrail Hayes each scored seven points for Marion, now 3-5 on the season. Finishing with five points apiece were Charles Steele, Jr. and Jamar Pope. Raymond Hobbs and DeAndric Thomas also contributed with two points each.
Marion will play host to Wallace State CC Selma on Tuesday, November 26th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
